See You at Harry's - Jo Knowles - كتب Google

See You at Harry's is one of the most beautiful, moving books I've ever read. Full of laughter, love, and tears, it will break your heart and put it back together again, with a little more light, a little more hope than there was before. This story of an imperfect but loving family and how it holds together through shattering tragedy as well as everyday complications is full of true heart.

Jo Knowles' love for her characters shines through on every page. I finished the book the way I do every Jo Knowles novel: holding it close, not wanting to let go.

See You at Harry’s

Jo Knowles writes a family you know in your bones-their routines, rituals, petty gripes, recurring jokes-which is why it about kills you when something equally real and terribly unexpected threatens their very existence as a family. Thankfully, Knowles brings hope-first a flicker, then a big, booming beacon of it.

‘See You at Harry’s,’ by Jo Knowles

Fern is very close to her brother and is dealing with her own feelings of confusion while she sorts out how she truly feels about her best friend, Ran. It is an important moment for Fern, realizing that adults can be worse than kids. Thus, Fern takes matters into her own hands, punching one of the bullies in the face.

From there, Fern and Holden decide to no longer ride the bus to school. Although, often people refer to him as the cute girl on TV.

Fern often spends her afternoons at the restaurant, doing homework and watching her baby brother, while her other siblings and parents run the restaurant. And then there's Charlie: three years old, a "surprise" baby, and the center of everyone's world.

If it wasn't for Ran, Fern's best and oldest friend, there would be nowhere to turn. Ran is always calm, always positive. His mantra "All will be well" is soothing in a way that nothing else seems to be.
